Omer Adam is a secular, yet traditional Israeli pop artist. His song, Modeh Ani, takes a modern twist on a timeless prayer; Adam begins the song with the words from the original prayer of Modeh Ani. However, as the song progresses, he includes all of the individual aspects of daily life that he is personally grateful for — including his clothing, his musical abilities, and the rain that helps the crops grow. Adam recognizes that Hashem gave him the talent for songwriting which inspires him to dedicate all of his music back to Hashem.
What are you grateful for? What would you add to your personal Modeh Ani? Tell us in the Be’ur Tefillah form!
