We hope everyone had so much fun with the activities and presentations yesterday! And a HUGE “yasher koach” to our Eidah Daled chanichim who led the color war teams and helped make the day such a success!! Back to our regular chugim, daily challenges and bunk time!

Machal, Shevet Sinai, has been having a very unique and meaningful online program this Summer as well. They have been enjoying challenges and time together daily, as well as learning and a care package of their own! They have also been thinking about racial justice and inequality three times a week in a group shiur and now, this week, with some unbelievable speakers and discussions. On Monday night they spoke with Rabbi Isaiah Rothstein who was just appointed as a consultant for the Jewish Federations of America, specifically regarding racial issues in Jewish communites. He spoke with our Machal Chanichim about the basic concepts, questions and Jewish sources on the topic.
Tonight, Rabbi Asher Lopatin, from Detroit, has organized a special evening with a pastor from the inner city who is bringing some teens from his church. They will speak to Machal about their lives and struggles with injustice and inequality. This thought-provoking session will give the chanichim a chance to hear from a population they do not know so much about! They will have breakout rooms after the zoom panel, so they can ask questions and get a little more personal.
The Machal counselors will be working with the chanichim on an “action plan” that they can bring back to their high schools and communities. They have discussed how important it is for them to share some of what they learned this summer. We are so proud of them!
Thank you to Aleeza Berkowitz and Akiva Goldberger, our Roshei Machal, for this special summer 🙂 They have put so much thought and effort into this program – very different than a summer of hiking and camping out, but it is meaningful and fun and making the most of these two weeks!!

I was looking over the website and I just want to let you know that I am SOOOOO IMPRESSED and wish so badly that I can be in camp this summer! My life has already been impacted and I can only imagine how the magic of Machaneh stone is impacting the chanichim. As someone in informal education, I truly appreciate all of the efforts that you have put in and the creativity involved. The programs are amazing, and look like they are being run by an all star crew!! I regret never having gone to camp stone, and while my friends have told me all about it, I never have been able to appreciate it until now. I hope it’s not too late!
