Thurs July 10
We really needed to catch up on sleep and B”h we had late kima today at 8:30. Well, most of us had late kima! Eidah Daled had super early kima to get on buses and travel a few hours (they all fell asleep pretty immediately) to white water rafting!! Amazing day having fun in the water and just enjoying NOT being competitive and against each other on different teams 🙂
Meanwhile when the rest of us woke up, we had our regular morning routine and we spent Shiur time learning about “the Mussar movement” Back in the 1800s in Lithuania, the Mussar movement focused people on working on their character traits to develop into kinder and more disciplined people. It taught that learning Torah is important, but so is being honest, humble, and caring. People who followed Mussar would spend time each day thinking about their actions and how to improve. It was like doing spiritual exercises to become the best version of yourself.
The day after Color War has always been trip day to Splash Lagood, an indoor water park/arcade which we go to and take turns by gender. So we had 6 peulot and then an early dinner and an hour bus ride to the water park. Sooooo fun and one of the best nights of camp, for sure! Late retrun so an extra hour of sleep will be given on the other end again 😉
Crazy to think this was our last day of regular peulot. Sunday is a fast day, the 17th of Tammuz, with special programming and then Mondaywill be peulot only in the morning…We have to pack in the afternoon. Fourth anf final Shabbat here we come!!!
