Tues July 8 – Color War Day 1

DATE: July 9, 2025

Game on!! Team Yeshiva (blue and yellow) vs. Team Kehilla (black and red)

Every single person has something to contribute during these two days  -whether you are strong in sports and the competitions or creative in dance and Melechet Yad or full of spirit for cheering and marches  – everything is for points, so give it your all. Even being at your eidah’s mifkad at 8:00 am. (No surprise that almost everyone was up and out of bed in record time today!)

Our Eidah Daled captains are learning how to manage and delegate, and they have hadracha on their teams to turn to for support and guidance. All campers and counselors were assigned teams, so each bunk was basically split in half.

As the color war booklet reminds us: Team Yeshiva represents the soul of Judaism – passionate prayer, halachic commitment, personal growth, and the belief that the Jewish people are held together through Torah and spirituality. Team Kehilla represents the body of the Jewish people – community institutions and organizations, leadership, spirit of volunteerism and chessed as well as unity, all in an effort to build and protect Am Yisrael. Plenty to speak about, cheer about and be creative about.

After our regular morning routine (kima, mifkad, breakfast, shiur, nikayon, aruchat eser) we had team meetings and then two peulot before lunch. Each eidah had 2 peulot for each gender, so for example at 11:45 the eidah alef banot played volleyball (Yeshiva vs. Kehilla) and Eidah alef banim played kickball (Yeshiva vs. kehilla). In addition,  there were climbing wall races and a cook-off in our Master Chef Jr. kitchen, races in the pool and even dancing competitions!

Marches were held after Mincha, before lunch and then another round of Team meetings, sporting events and marches before dinner. After maariv, we had an Olympiada in Indoor World. An Olympiada means many quick, fun, silly relay races and minute-to-win-it style games. Lots of cheering, laughing and silliness!

The fun picks up again tomorrow as everyone continues to compete in games and continues to work on their final presentations. More about those presentations tomorrow. Rest up – it’s going to be a long, hard day tomorrow. Go, go, go, go, go, go! Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight! Win, win, win, win, win, win! Go – Fight-Win!

Meanwhile Machal is having their week in DC, and today they did some volunteering and then had a fun few hours at Sky Zone 🙂 and then a yummy BBQ dinner.

About the Chanukah Raffle

Dear Camp Stone Community,

It is an incredible feeling to reconnect with everyone once again at the beginning of our 2021 camp season.

We are writing to you today, first and foremost, to express tremendous gratitude.

Hakarat HaTov, literally “recognizing the good”, is an important and fundamental principle in our community. We, at Camp Stone, want to express our Hakarat HaTov to everyone receiving this email for your unwavering support, especially this past summer. Whether you provided financial assistance through your donated tuition dollars, participated in Indoor World, or connected with the Camp Stone community in other ways, together we had an incredibly successful, albeit different, summer experience.

There is no substitute for being in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania, and this summer, B’ezrat Hashem, we will be back at Camp Stone, in person, in full force.

To achieve that goal, we must continue to ensure the financial success of our home away from home that we all know and love so deeply. The logo on top, featuring the slogan “Stone. Forever.” also features a Ner Tamid, an “eternal flame.” The year 1969, etched into the logo, is the year camp was founded. Symbolically, the overall image represents the idea that Camp Stone began many years ago and must endure forever, always burning brightly, and always an integral part of our collective conscience.

On that note, we are excited to announce that our annual Chanukah Campaign will be a raffle taking place over all 8 nights of Chanukah with prizes for both campers and parents/alumni!!

Please go back to the web page  to purchase raffle tickets and help us achieve 100% participation from our entire camp community!

Looking forward to being in touch with all of you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Yakov & Estee, Co-Directors
