Man plans and G-d laughs… We had the best weather at the Chutz (and I even bragged about it!!) and then suddenly right before dawn, we were woken up by rain on our faces. Everyone got out of their sleeping bags and walked back to camp and fell right into their beds (ahhh…home sweet home). Kima was at 8:45, so we made up the sleep b”h.  And the crazy thing was – by 8:45 the sun was out. What was that?? Did we dream it? We had tefilah in camp, followed by breakfast and shiur-by-eidah, just as we planned to have at the chutz. Then  Eidot Aleph and vav had shower time, while the big kids went back to the chutz site to clean up a little. Bet and Gimmel came back for shower time. And Daled stayed the longest and ate lunch there. They finished the clean up and returned to camp when they were done. All in all, Eidah Daled, our oldest chanichim and chanichot, did a wonderful job running the plugot, giving everyone food and making all ages feel welcome and cared for. Their Roshei Eidah were so proud of them. The beginning of  leadership at Camp Stone starts at the Chutz and these kids passed with flying colors. They know that their next opportunity to serve as leaders for the younger campers will be…Color War (sometime next week…. we all begin to wonder when??)

That is how the chanichim grow up here: Kaytana, younger bunks (aleph and vav), older bunks (bet, gimmel, daled), Roshei Plugah on the chutz, Color War captains, tzevet, hadracha, Roshei Eidah, Roshei Machal and then…Roshei Moshava. Some of our Roshei Moshava have literally “gone through the whole system” and it is so much nachat 🙂

One everyone was showered and the two days of mail/packages were collected, we had a regular schedule of peulot. Well, that is until early dinner was at 5:45. Next up: trip out for ice skating!! Younger eidot showered (yes, for the second time today!) , ate dinner and went. Older eidot ate dinner, showered and then went. Two shifts at the rink. Look for fun pics from that outing

Fun fact: the last two days, while everyone was out at the Chutz, we hosted Moshava B’ir from Cleveland. The kids came with their counselors and stayed in our Kaytana bunk/building. They enjoyed the climbing wall, the pool, susim, the village and overall had a great time seeing our grounds and enjoying the facilities!! We hope to see them here soon for a full session 🙂

Friday already?? It’s crazy. Our third hike and our third Shabbat in camp. The singing, dancing and cheering gets louder and louder each week. And we can’t wait to catch up with Machal, of course, after their week in Virgina. They returned late tonight and were met with a celebratory freshly grilled BBQ outside “behind the Bayit”! (IYKYK) We are beyond proud of their week in the Great Outdoors and wanted to surprise them with something special.

Shabbat Shalom from our corner of the world… and then 9 days left to maximize and enjoy to the fullest!
