Chodesh Tov!
Following a beautiful Rosh Chodesh Tfila, this morning at Aruchat Eser, the Chutz was broken out! For the next three days and two nights, the entire camp will go to a nearby field (about a 20 minute walk) and will set up camp. Eidah Daled campers will be leading their “Plugot” of about 25-30 campers, where they will be gathering wood, building fires, making food, and hanging out. This is a tremendous leadership opportunity for each Eidah Daled camper who is put in charge of kids younger than them.
Each Pluga is given a project to make the Chutz feel like camp. One group is in charge of the Beit Knesset, another in charge of a “Welcome to the Chutz” sign, and others make thrones for the Roshei Moshava or a tetherball court. We take our shtick very seriously at Machane Stone.
Tomorrow, we’ll explain the food competition at the Chutz and the Never Ending Breakfast.
