Sunday August 18/ 14 Menachem Av
Shavua Tov!
We had a beautiful last shabbat here at camp. This was the last opportunity for the kids to learn with their chevrutot, spend shabbat afternoon with their friends, and they enjoyed their final shabbat of the summer.
This morning, Eidah Daled woke up early to go White Water Rafting, while the rest of camp was very surprised to see them missing. Maybe that means there might be a trip at some point today for the rest of camp?
A very exciting highlight of today, was a Hachnasat Sefer Torah. Tami & Yaron Goldberg, who are longtime Camp Stone Mishpachot and parents, donated a Sefer Torah in memory of their parents, three of whom attended and met at a Machane Bnei Akiva in Europe after surviving the Holocaust.
The Sefer Torah was finished in Israel a few weeks ago, and then brought to camp. We had lots of singing and dancing and brought the Torah to the Indoor Beit Knesset. Everyone in camp was given a special T-shirt and we celebrated with ice cream afterwards. We are so thankful to Tami & Yaron for this special gift and for everything they do for Camp Stone.
At lunch, Splash Lagoon was broken out, which means that the kids will all be going later to a waterpark in Erie. They love this and we are excited to hear from them tomorrow.
Machal is spending time at the Machal Chutz site, where they will be spending lots of time with their friends and counselors.
