Shavua Tov! We had a beautiful last Shabbat together with our routine of singing, tefillah, dancing, learning and eidah time together. It was so bittersweet knowing this was the last Shabbat for all of our chanichim and for many many tzevet too. We hope the chanichim will take the ruach home and keep singing all year until we meet again next Summer. We had the honor of hearing a personal story at seudah shlishit from our very own Estee Flesichmann – ask your children about Estee’s father , why her parents married one year, to-the-date, after their original planned wedding date and what amazing coincidence awaited her at her first home in Israel. It was a special “real life” story that they will not forget.
Shiur today was a wrap-up and look-back at all the shiurim this month – we talked about leadership, change, halacha, and more! Each shiur teacher decided how to review – some with a game and some with a discussion. Moshevet Torah sheBe’al Peh, from 70 to 500, taught all of us such an important part of our shared history. We know the chanichim are walking away with names, places, concepts and a sense of the timeline – and they had such an enjoyable time learning with their young shiur teacher each day!
Today’s schedule had some of the regular peulot and then some time to buy “stonewear” – always a favorite last-day activity 🙂 Bringing home swag makes the goodbye a little easier.
Machal went biking today on a long trail and then made grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner – one more chance to grill!
At 9:00 pm we ALL met in Indoor World for two hours of fun at homemade carnival booths (including free ice cream and cotton candy!! ) and some very exciting Machal vs. Daled basketball! In the girls’ game, Machal won and in the boys’ game Daled won. The tension was high, the crowd was super into it and the players were impressive! We had some new bleacher seating which the Amish build for us and entertaining running commentary by some Tzevet members. It was a really fun second-to-last-night. Can’t believe tomorrow is packing day 🙁 This fun, inspiring, meaningful month is coming to end, and we are all feeling so grateful, bonded and…yes of course, exhausted!!!
