Report from the first day of Color War: Navi vs. Melech
Today’s shiur was about the role of king, using Achav as our example. Tomorrow we will focus on the role of navi. Shiur is all about Torah learning and a time-out from the competition 🙂
After team meetings this morning, there were two rounds of sporting events. Campers were on the climbing wall, at the agam, in the pool, on the basketball court, on the kickball and football fields, playing dodgeball in Indoor World, on the high ropes and even baking in the kitchen. Different eidot and genders were assigned different games and challenges and points were recorded.
We had team marches and cheers before lunch of course, and then a dance party in Indoor World where teams were judged on (and I quote from the schedule) ” attendance, vigor and overall fun”! After that warm-up there was a HUGE machanayim game, with everyone playing, and then another round of sporting events (again, in the pool, on the courts, at the climbing wall etc)
After more meetings, pre-dinner marches and dinner served by Team Melech (lunch had been served by team Navi), everyone davened maariv and then went to Indoor World for an hour of races, challenges and minute-to-win-it style competition.
It was a long day, and everyone is having fun! Chanichim have been working on all of the projects and presentations, and we cannot wait to see those tomorrow. Also, we know the Apache Race will be epic, as always!! Stay tuned for more Color War updates soon….
